Yes, marijuana should be legalized. Marijuana has many good things that could help people in everyday life. There are many reason why for an example; many other harmful drugs such as tobacco and alcohol is legal, it can be used for medical purposes, and just to help people relax.
One of many reason why marijuana should be legal is because how many other drugs are legal? Marijuana is one of a few not to harmful drugs that are illegal. Many hard drugs such as painkillers, tobacco, and alcohol are drugs that are very destructive to your health and possibly even your life that are legal at the age of eighteen or twenty-one. Tobacco and alcohol are self-harming drugs unlike marijuana. Marijuana is a drug that is a lot safer and harder to over dose than alcohol. Alcohol and tobacco both cause some type of cancer but yet marijuana cures cancer and still is illegal.

Marijuana could be used to help with pain, nausea, and other signs of sickness that other drugs just simply aren't curing. Marijuana is also known to cure cancer. The fact that marijuana doesn't directly cause death and also doesn't lead to other sicknesses just proves why it should be legal. The policy clearly should be changed if the government doesn't even believe the drug a danger to disease. However, the government has such a big concern on alcohol use and spends most its time worrying about that. If marijuana isn't a major concern for the government, then why not just make it legal.
