For years there has been many issues and concerns with schools and how they are run around the world. The concerns stem from schools not having enough money or the proper resources to provide a safe building for students, down to the smallest task of getting books or pencils for the classes. There have been many different efforts that have succeeded in trying to find a solution to these problems, but there has recently been a bigger concern for student safety in montgomery county. Recently there was a tragedy that occurred on March 16th at Rockville High School. On that day a 14 year old freshman girls was raped by two other students. This tragedy has not only had major emphasis recently because this should never happen to anyone but because

Sheldon Sacks is a parent of two students who graduated from Rockville High School said “It sounds like they're not looking at the real problem”(George). He is referring to everyone worried about what to do with the two boys and their immigration status. What about the rest of the students who are in the US illegally. “You don't really know how many illegal immigrants are in school. If you have a lot… they should have a special school then they would have individuals the same age”(George). The real concern is not actually about students being the same age it is about the students being illegal immigrants that scares everyone. Putting these students in a different school would only separate them even more and isolate them. Most people would agree that immigrants come to the US for a better life, so excluding them even more in schools would not help. To give students a chance there should be better program implemented in public schools to help immigrants. A portion of the parents believe these programs are wasting money or degrade schools. “ you put them in with kids who are trying to learn other things, you’re degrading the school system” (George). Clearly immigrants coming to school shows they are willing to try and learn something new just as much as other students although they are not learning the same thing trying to learn to speak a second language is something we teach non immigrant students so why would the school system not do the same thing for the students who have
