Having all A’s for the first and second quarter is awesome, but having an award for earning all A’s all year and you are called up to the stage! Imagine a school not appreciating student learning. Luckily in our school, the administrators appreciate our learning and even gives us rewards. Having a huge class has many disadvantages that will affects student learning. There will be less disruptions in the classrooms, Student achievement will increase, and teachers will get to tailor instructions more individually.

Based on a website I found, “www.methodschool.org” titled,”What are the Advantages to Schools with Small class sizes”, stated,” There’s less distruption. It doesn’t matter how skilled the teacher is when there are thirty-five students in the classroom. There are going to be disruptions.” Another reason that schools should have smaller class sizes is that student achievement increases. Students in smaller classes do better than those in larger classes. I am able to get involved in class and get one on one time if I don't get something that we are going over. Every teacher makes sure to tell me that there office hours and where to find them if not in the classroom. Personally it helps not having to much people in the class to interrupt the teacher and the teacher has more time to lecture about the topic. And with smaller classes I get to meet people and get to know them better as well as we get to share ideas as a ground and get to discuss things more closely.…

The reader is encouraged to consider both the growing concern regarding current trends of larger classroom sizes, in addition to contemplating the possible misrepresentation or distortion of data. Interestingly, the authors investigate the resulting influence on teacher professionalism and academic outcomes, especially for classrooms with a large number of diverse learners who require additional support. For example, Pam Kent, SA Primary Principals Association president, highlights teaching quality as a greater influencing factor on academic achievement, inferring class size has restricted impact in comparison. However, generalised statements referring to ‘the research’, without citing specific evidence or literature, diminishes the strength of her argument. Conversely, implementation of data from various surveys reveals the high nature of class sizes within South Australia.…

Since there is more of a bond created between teacher and student, the student may receive individual instruction. Whereas in a larger school it may be harder for this connection to occur. Without this interaction of personalized instruction students and parents may get frustrated and feel alienated. There is believed to be a larger student participation in activities, academically or extracurricular. Since there is a small number of students…

If students are having a hard time in school, this will allow them the opportunity to get extra help (Cavazos). Students sometimes don’t do well in classes due to lack of time given to them to ask teachers questions. This way they will start to get that opportunity. By only having four classes to teach each semester it makes it easier for teachers to teach the students everything they are supposed to be taught each year (Smith). Due to the lack of time given to teachers to teach their students, they sometimes fail to reach every lesson needed before their students graduate.…

Another advantage of small classes is that they are less intimidating. A class with 60 students can cause someone to get nervous or anxious, but a class with only 27 students is more similar to a high school class. In addition to more one on one time and being less intimidating, smaller classes allow professors to get to know the students better. This reason somewhat overlaps with more one on one time, but when a professor knows your name personally, it can effect your attitude towards the…

However, the unescapable problems that come with reducing class sizes are a major concern. Some teachers believe that students, particularly those in primary grades (k-6), would benefit most from a class size reduction. Studies have revealed that smaller classes are better for both the student and teacher in both scholastic and social skills. It is apparent that our country is interested in improving schools and the reduction of class sizes is one way they are tracking. I believe that if smaller class size were implemented it would be beneficial to teachers and the students that he/she are assigned to. By having a well-balanced teacher to student ratio the students will be allowed more one on one time with the teacher in areas that are difficult to the students, which are usually science and math. In the class teachers are required to have a schedule that they must abide by in order to be able teach all subject areas in one school day. By having a smaller size class the teacher can identify what areas are difficult for students and could possibly spend more time teaching it because with the smaller class this will allow the teacher to answer more questions that students may have and to review the subject further using more examples of the lessons that are being taught. In order for the class sizes to be smaller schools must be willing to hire the additional teachers needed in order for the classes to be balanced.…

I strongly disagree with the thought of large class sizes. In a world in which an education is the most valuable asset one can possess, why lower the attention a student receives in a classroom? Our school district is exceptional compared to multiple urban areas across the state. Throughout the past decade, our schools have typically been schools of proficiency and distinguish. An issue that I hold dearly to my heart, what is one's future without an education?…

Over half of high school students do not feel that their schools have prepared them to live on their own. Many teens rely on their parents to teach them when most of the time parents do not know how to perfectly. The curriculum should accentuate to improve student skill in order to draw up their future. Class size has an effect to reach effectiveness of student at a school. Class size is calculated by dividing the number of student and number of class. We can see in Indonesia present more than 30 people in a class, as a result, the concentration of teacher and student will be not efficient. Reducing class becomes a benefit for the student in order to create them focus in class (Krueger, 2002) and there is a relation among reducing class with teacher exertion (Hattie, 2009; OECD, 2009).…
