Why We Should Have Free Speech In Schools

First, students' rights to free speech should be limited in schools. Students should be able to have freedom of speech but there has to be a line drawn at some point. The extent should be limited to being able to wear symbolic clothing and similar stuff like that. The freedom of speech should not be to the point to where there is long drawn out speeches in school and/or short speeches such as talking in class about it or talking in the hallway. "But, even with First Amendment protection guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution, there are limits in the school setting." The schools may allow students to give their opinion unless there is a reason to stop it. These are some of the reasons why free speech should be limited in schools.

Also, students' rights should be limited because students are students. They should not be able to complain until they are out of school. One of the reasons is safety, to have a safe environmental school. Students should be allowed to complain but they should not be able to have speeches and posting about why they don't like a teacher or how much homework they give. They should be limited to talking to a principal or talking

Basically, they should be allowed to wear their shirts with signs, symbols, and art. They should not be able to have speeches or be able to post stuff about a teacher saying stuff they dislike about, and thinking they will not get in trouble. The majority of the people in the article "From the Student Press Law Center (SPLC)" voted that students should be allowed to post on social media without getting in trouble. "Student speech on social media, and whether it should be given free speech protections, has been a heated issue." Students should be able to comment something to their friends (they shouldn't) but they should not make it the biggest deal and put it on social media and saying why they dislike a teacher.
