The usage of genetically modified organisms, commonly known as GMO’s, in various industries, generally in food production, is a reason for GMO’s to be a critical, controversial topic. GMOs financially greatly benefits corporations, such as Monsanto, but only because people are not aware of its hidden implications. People aware of these hidden complications on food should consider their food choices. Because of this, GMOs have been banned in many countries, including Australia, Japan, New Zealand, and the European Union. They recognize that a lack of long-term studies and testing may be hiding disastrous health effects.
