Why We Procrastinate The TED talk “Why We Procrastinate” by Vik Nithy is about why we procrastinate and how we can prevent procrastination. Vik Nithy started off by saying we procrastinate because two parts of our brain, the part with sense and the part that wants to play, argue over whether to do the task at hand right away or not, but the decision is really consciencial. Nithy provided tips to prevent procrastination such as starting work sooner, using metacognition (thinking about thinking), and planning ahead for things such as failure. He made sure to mention not to wait for the right time to come because the exact right time never will. Vik Nithy concluded by reminding us that procrastination is definitely not
