In one experiment, participants were asked to walk in either a forest or urban settings, with different lengths of time and difficulties of walks. Their heart rate variability, heart rate, and blood pressure measured and were asked to fill questionnaires about their moods, stress levels, and other psychological measures. The results proved that the ones who walked in the forest had much lower heart rates and higher heart rate variability which indicates less stress.
