Why Was Tutankhamun’s Life So Short? History mysteries have been researched time and time again with no complete answer. No matter how big or small there are hundreds if not thousands of history mysteries. One of the more significant mysteries is how Tutankhamun the very young Egyptian pharaoh had died. Tutankhamun died when he was only 18 having been the youngest ever egyptian pharaoh. Many different theories and hypotheses have sprung up about what really caused the death of Tutankhamun which still remains unknown. Though scientists and historians alike have not a clear answer they do have a few theories. The first theory was that he committed suicide. A virtual autopsy revealed that King Tut’s rib cage was exceptionally damaged his chest was also slightly harmed. These injuries could have been caused by a swift kick from the horse leading the chariot. For this to happen however Tutankhamun would have to have been kneeling quite near the horse. This is not unlikely but this theory is not proven. There was also evidence that there could have been a one on one collision with another chariot. Tutankhamun had a broken leg that egyptologists believe that could’ve sustained in a chariot crash. Even though a broken leg seems mere and non life threatening scientists trust that King Tut gotten an infection in the leg he broke. As medical technology was not advanced and simple. The egyptian doctors wouldn’t have had the medication to treat the infection. Scientists do not know what infection could have ended his life.
