It is now clear why the Middle Ages are commonly referred to as the Dark Ages. The Middle Ages are called the Dark Ages because Europe was invaded numerous amounts of times, produced little culture (Art, Literature, technology, etc.), and there were absurd laws with unjust penalties made. Europe was invaded so many times in the medieval period that it became routine as mentioned in the Abbey of Xanten Records. There were many deaths that occurred during those invasions and they also devastated the cities afterwards. Also in this period, little culture was made and education was not really supported. And their attempt at making laws was just embarrassing because they were biased and immoral.
