The Romans are one of the most influential civilizations of all time. They might even be considered the second most inspirational civilization only second to Greece. Rome was a great power with great success in its time, which can be attributed to many things. The two main reasons that Rome might have been successful was for its government and its army. The Romans had a well thought out government, which is believed to have been made after the government of Sparta made by Lycurgus. If this is so, the Romans did make changes to the original plan.
