A long while ago a young housewife became an international icon in a matter of days. That lady’s name was Marilyn Monroe. Marilyn could do whatever her heart desired. She went from a housewife of a soldier, to a model in a few weeks. Why was Marilyn so famous? How did her picture on the air vent become so popular, and lastly, why is she still popular today? Marilyn Monroe was an icon of her era.
How did Marilyn become popular? There are many reasons why, and many other opinions, but this is the way I see it. Norma Jean is the name she was born with and stayed with it for 18 years. Norma became a model after a photographer saw her working for the army building parachutes for the war. It became famous because that was the first shoot that any of her fans could stand by on the windy streets of New York and watch the movie take form. She stood out there for 2 hours and took over 200 photos just to make her fans overjoyed. It was also popular because it was for the new and upcoming movie that everyone wants to examine being, she is in it. Another reason why it is popular is because it was on the cover of the movie.
