In the myth of Capricornus, the capricorn was very helpful to the Gods during the war of the Titans. He was helpful to the Gods because he would help scare the Triton's away. He would also give the Gods tactics to protect themselves. For example he told them to disguise themselves as animals until they were gone. Also Capricornus jumped into the Nile river which turned his lower part of his body into a fish in order to kill a Monster to protect the Gods. Because of his bravery and honor Zeus decided to Honor him in the sky.
