Building an Empire Building an empire is a difficult task for anybody, but maintaining one is much more challenging, it requires ambition, strength, power and much more. Alexander is a great example . When he became king at the age of 20, he was very well trained and prepared for his role as king. He was ambitious and had a mindset of a conqueror. As a child, he was trained to ride horses, use weapons, and command troops which benefited him greatly in his adult life as a king . For 13 years, Alexander was king of Macedonia and with such little time, he conquered the lands from Greece all the way to the Indus Valley and named many cities after himself.
