Fort Sumter is one of the four forts left in the US, and it is an island located down at the harbor of Charleston, South Carolina. It started to become a larger situation in the March of 1861, right after Lincoln was elected into office. Seven C.S.A states had already seceded, and Lincoln didn’t believe that the South was able to secede from the U.S, which caused a problem. Not only did they seceded, but they were starting to bring aggression and ‘military action’.
