“Uber is here to stay and that’s a good thing” (Unknown). Now that Uber is available in dozens of cities across the country, Uber is catching on with parents who need to get their kids from place A to place B and can’t always manage. Teenagers are now not walking or desperate to get their first car because of Uber. Elders are not calling their children to get from one place to another.Kids and people under the influence are now calling on uber as they rescue for anywhere. . Uber is the new version of riding the bus or catching a taxi. The most likely reason why Uber is becoming more popular is because Uber is a cheaper transportation, also the other most likely reason is because it is easy to access and the less likely reason is that it can …show more content…
Many might say is not safe because Uber does not provide primary insurance coverage for its drivers for customers or other people that might be involved in an accident with an Uber driver. “Any incident has to be covered in first instance by the driver's personal insurance, which does not cover the commercial use of the vehicle” (Cecil). Also the secondary insurance provided by Uber, only works for the duration of the ride.Uber has not got to the point yet where they can afford to get coverage for drivers and customers. Uber has not even been around for 5 full years yet.They are still expanding and trying to make Uber the best transportation other than a car. Also many people might not think Uber is safe because many says that Uber does not treat their women drivers right, so why would they treat the women riders right? “Female passengers, fearful after numerous incidents where male drivers have raped, assaulted or harassed passengers, likely would welcome women drivers”(Forbes). Uber has not had any real incidents with women drivers or passengers. This information is just based off incidents with women in the past. Lastly most people might say Uber is not safe because you could get into the wrong vehicle. “Stories broke across the U.S. this summer as innocent non-Uber drivers reported that strangers were hopping into their cars when they were pulled up to curbs or stopped in what customers mistakenly believed were pickup locations”(Smith).
