When I was a teenager there was no booty shorts or teenage lingerie or a make-up line for girls and teens. Now stores are targeting all of theses things for younger girls making them grow up so fast or look like they are grown. I remember having my eight-year-old niece over and when she arrived to my house her face was full of makeup and she was wearing a bra under her little tank top and her booty shorts. I wiped her face off with a wet towel and told her she was to young to wear makeup and that she should be a little girl and enjoy it. I also told my sister that the clothes she lets her wear is to provocative even for an eight-year-old and that she was going to regret it later. She agreed and no longer lets her get out of the house with clothes …show more content…
Everything is so advanced now that it gives no chance for these tweens to just be kids and enjoy their childhood. Now they have to worry about wearing the latest fashion and that makes them look older than what they really are. That can be a dangerous thing for tweens with predators and men thinking that they are older because of the clothes and makeup that they are wearing. When I walked into a department store of lingerie everything in the store is targeted for young girls. With all of these colorful bras and underwear they also had crop tops that show their bellies. I was in line and a couple of teenagers were in line buying lingerie and the lady at the register asked her if she wanted to apply for a credit card. The teenager said yes and as the lady is getting all her information she asked her if she was eighteen or older and the teenager said she was fifteen. She was not old enough for a lingerie credit card so why should she be old enough to buy lingerie, but that has a lot to do with the parents …show more content…
Especially with the social media going on and taking selfies, they want to look good in the picture because they care so much on what others have to say about them. They are posting inappropriate pictures in their social media so that they can get likes and followers not realizing how bad that looks and how dangerous it is. The clothing they are wearing in the pictures or the lack of it is not good, but that is what makes them feel beautiful. That is why parents should talk to their children and let them know what is appropriate and what is not. Parents can also keep track of their social media so this does not occur, but most importantly letting them know how beautiful they are no matter what they
