The Voting Age Should Be Lowered
What is the lowest age you are allowed to vote? Eighteen is the minimum age that people are allowed to vote these days and I think that it should be lowered. Three reasons they should lower the minimum voting age is because kids this age have some good opinions, they would pay more attention to the news, and lastly we wouldn't have as many ties in the voting because there would be more people to vote. Anyone the age of 18 or older is allowed to vote for the president of the united states but what about us? We all have opinions on who should be the president but we aren't allowed to express those opinions. According to https://www.constituteproject.org/constitution/United_States_of_America_1992
The 26 amendment states that “The right of citizens of the United States, who are eighteen years of age or older, to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of age.” We deserve the right to vote.
The First reason is that Kids have opinions just like adults so they deserve to express their opinions and vote for the president. Kids have very good opinions about everything but they aren’t allowed to tell it because the 26th amendment is holding them back. When it's time for the presidential election, all the people running for that office gives speeches and campaigns a lot of stuff on the news. If the younger people were allowed to vote for the president, they would have to watch the news more to figure out who they want to vote for. It would allow them to spend more time with family while watching it. They could discuss and talk about who they would vote for and why. It is another way for families to bond and to get kids to watch the
