Why We Need to Help
There is a very controversial subject, should the United States allow immigrants and or refugees into our country 's borders to live here permanently? There is a difference between the two groups of people, one wants the chance for different opportunities in another country and the other is forced out of their homes by tragedy. As long as immigrants legally come here, they should be allowed to live in our borders. Current refugees are innocent people, but catastrophe forced them to flee their country from the horror ISIS is doing. That the United States has its own problems and should not take on another 's. After doing research for this assignment, it altered my perspective. The refugees desperately need our help. A refugee is “a person who flees for refuge or safety, especially to a foreign country, as in time of political upheaval, war, etc” (Dictionary.com 1). Most of today’s refugees are trying to escape the terrorism from ISIS. ISIS is short for Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, “the extreme death cult” was formed in Iraq in 2013, shortly after the war in Afghanistan. Although the members are Muslim, “ISIS has fewer than 40,000 members. There are 1.6 billion Muslims in the world. More than 3 million Muslims live in America. Most Muslims around the world reject ISIS. In fact, many of them are fighting against ISIS” (“The truth about Isis” pg 4-8). ISIS has done “143 attacks in 29 countries have killed 2,043 [people]” (“ISIS Goes Global”) including beheading innocent people, drowning an infant, killing many in a club in Paris and, any Muslim who does not follow Islamic rules. Despite all of the terrorist attacks in Paris, France is continuing to allow the refugees into their country. If countries turn against the refugees, they may feel betrayed by their fellow man and join ISIS, contributing to their growing numbers (Davies, Madeleine “A loss of nerve: why isn 't the West doing more …show more content…
First, you are able to help those who are in desperate need and were forced to leave their homes. There can be brilliant people from their country and contribute to the new country they will be apart of. For example, Albert Einstein, he was a Jewish refugee escaping from Nazis during the second World War. He contributed to Physics and some of the basic understanding of the universe and its energy (“Immigration to the United States”). If the United States never allowed Einstein in, he and many others, would of been killed and to this day we might not of had the opportunity to understand the basics of the earth. If a country accepts the refugees from the devastation that they are facing (excluding natural disasters) the country is probably at war with the other Nation, and some of the refugees would want to be soldiers, fighting against the terrorism, and hopefully safely returning to their
