In more than 40 states, at least 75% of public schools start their school days before 8:30. Debates have been made on whether or not schools should start later or stay the way they are.School days should start off later, because students will be able to get the recommended 8-10 hours of sleep per night.This would lead to an improved performance not only in school work but also with the health of the students. Getting enough sleep has shown to improve students classroom performance, resulting in better grades, improved test scores, and a reduced amount in absences and tardies.
