Over the years your parents have told you not to do drugs they're bad for you.But time and time again a new generation has found a drug that is very dangerous to use.Marijuana is an increasingly hot topic for today society,and needs to dealt with a more serious manner. in that case over the course of this essay i will be explaining my opinion and the legalization and the changes that will come with it. so is America ready for it.
Yes,America is ready for the legalization of medical cannabis, but with the help of other countries and how are law enforcement will deal with it. In other countries they have ruled the use of medical use of cannabis,but to a limit.In 2009 Argentina’s Supreme court has ruled the legalization of cannabis in private home in small amounts. In Czech Republic, researchers found “that incriminating individuals for drug use did little to nothing to decrease the drug use rates and the availability of the illicit substances.” so seeing all of this america should take in consideration of what all these other countries are doing. …show more content…
In 2013 The U.S. Department of Justice “issued the Cole Memo in which it offers guidance to prosecutors and law enforcement on where it focus its marijuana effect.” These are some of the priorities prevent distribution to minors, Prevent marijuana revenue from funding criminal enterprises, gangs or cartels, Prevent marijuana from moving out of states where it is legal, Prevent use of state-legal marijuana sales as a cover for illegal activity, and ect. by doing so we make sure that the people are safe and law enforcement are doing there job
