Ethical Dilemmas In Leadership Essay

The leadership role is a position that has many pro and cons. The main concept about being a leader is to have the knowledge and ability to lead groups in the direction, where the groups desire to go. It is difficult at times to maintain the wants and needs of each member in the groups. There are some members that will disagree with methods that some leaders use. It is understandable that not every member in groups will agree with how the leaders are leading their groups.
There are various ways to lead groups, but the main concept that leaders have, is to ensure that their groups are successful in terms of the goals they want to accomplish. There are some ethical dilemmas that I see in the case example. The first ethical dilemma comes from the both the group’s and mayor’s demands. I would speak to the group about their demands. I would also look at our facility and see if can extend our operating hours to accommodate more individuals at an earlier time. These are steps that I will take, if the meeting with the city council does not go the way that they group intends. This concept is not to state that I do not think that their efforts at the city council meeting will not work, but this is another approach that the group can use to get their demands.
There are various ethical dilemmas throughout this case and I know that there are multiple ways to handle a case like this. It is my hope that can I help this group and other groups as well, when I am in a supervisor position. I know that there will be ethical dilemmas that I will endure. It is my job to ensure that the groups that I will be leading, know that I have the knowledge and ability to advocate for their demands.
