Why The Driving Age Should Be Raised To 21

Decent Essays
Increasing the age of when teens can begin to drive would be unnecessary in my opinion.

A reasons we should raise the age to 18 could be that some teen drivers are more mature at that age. Some people say there would be less wrecks if the age was raised but wrecks can just happen to anyone. Increasing the age is just a difficult situation because it's based on people's opinions. The age to be raised could be good for the cops if they were to pull a teen over, then they would treat them like a adult.

A good reason we shouldn't raise the age is because teens are developing skills in their life everyday smf driving would just help them even more. If anything the age should be lowered. There is teens out in the world that act more mature than most adults and are more responsible to get a licences. I think it should stay the same ages but also should be depended on the way you act. Teens are at the point they would get jobs to pay for all the fun things there friends want to go and do. Ages 14-15 should be able to get there learners and then have their licence by 15-16. To lower the age to at least 14 would be a great idea.

Parents would be more stressed out because they would have to take their teen to go hangout with there friends, possibly take them to their job, when they could already be driving. There has been there is that if the age raised then there possibly would be more wrecks because the teens are older and would wanna try new things like drugs, alcohol, etc. The age should stay the same but the main thing is if the teen can pass the tests.

The main point of my essay is that the age should just stay the way it is. There is plenty of good and bad reasons to why the age should and shouldn't be raised but it's really just an opinion. In the end teens are going to do whatever they want whether it's good, bad, safe or against the

Although most people would disagree, I think that the driving age should not be risen for two reasons. One reason I feel this way is because after so many years of having the driving age the way it is, there is no valid reason to change it now. The driving age was changed to 16 so that the blood alcohol limit for under-20s would be decreased to 0. Parliament also felt that it would strengthen the restricted license test. Another reason I disagree with the age change is that I do not want to have to wait any longer.…

I think people should be able to drive at whatever age they feel like they can safely drive. I think the minimum age should be thirteen, and as long as you’re a teenager, driving tests should be harder. Also, instead of just passing, everyone has to get 100%. As long as we know that teens will be safe, they can drive. If they won’t be safe and won’t drive carefully and responsibly, then they shouldn’t be able to drive.…

Also, the number of teens killed will only grow. According to the article, “Alexander Sostarecz: Raise driving age to 18 when teens are more responsible” says, if the driving age was raised to 18, roads would be safer and teenage death rates from car accidents would be lower. This means that raising the age would make the roads safer. The amount of car accidents would be lower because the age was raised.…

sixteen year olds should be able to prove that they are responsible enough to handle driving through testing and proven capability. If it is just accepted that all sixteen year olds are incapable of driving, than these individuals will believe they are not adults for an even longer period of time. When society treats them as teens, then they are going to act like teens. If we treat these sixteen year olds as adults, than they can be expected to act more like it. If they really are ready, then they should be allowed to…

Teens must know how to be responsible and “self-regulate” on their own. Teens need experience in order to learn, and raising the minimum driving age prevents teens from getting much needed experience at a younger age. Those who support raising the minimum driving age may argue that teens are reckless and irresponsible. However, teens only account for about 12 percent.…

One reason the driving age should be raised is because countless teens are involved in accidents every year. To begin with a 2017 article approaching the topic of current percentages of teen car wrecks. In 2015, teens, ages 16-19 were killed due to a car accident putting them in emergency departments for medical care. They then looked at numbers and found that 2,333 teens were killed in the U.S. and 221,313 were in critical care in 2014. This means that six teens ages 16-19 died every day from motor vehicle injuries.…

I believe that raising the driving age limit would hinder our young teens. For most they depend on getting their license at their age for several of reasons. This will make it to where they have the freedom to go as they please and have that freedom. While some young teens do not care if it is raised cause either way they still get to drive. Some adults say, that in raising the driving age will make it to where their will be less accidents on the road; however, that might be true to some degree some students need it for a job others to go to school, or even to be able to move out on their own.…

They will still have to pass the tests and clock hours for their permit so if they are not ready to drive it will be seen in their tests. Younger drivers tend to be more distracted and less cautious; showing that more likely to be involved in fatal crashes. That is why teen driving ages should be raised so that they can have more time to mature and become safer drivers. Raising the driving age will put less inexperienced drivers off the road, meaning it would be safer and cheaper to drive. Teenagers are not mature enough and this is the first reason why driving age should be raised. Teenagers wait for a long time to drive and when they finally be 18 and can drive they do crazy things like driving very fast which is unsafe thing for them and for other drivers on the road. Letting the teenagers drive in early age would increase the number of car accidents. As it is mentioned 5000 teenagers dies every year from car accidents. Teenagers are not matured enough to…
