Why The Disrespect In The Parable Of The Prodigal's Son

Do you know what KJV stands for? It stands for King James Version. The King James Version is a latin translation, of the authorized version of the bible. This book is actually the first major dictionary for many people. And also, in the year of 1611, King James wanted a bible that others could read and repeat. During this time you actually had to hand write every single copy that you wanted. Since King James wanted this repetition done so it would be shared and learned by many. Out of all the stories that he had copied my favorite would have to be, The Parable of the Prodigal Son, I like this one because it displays love, jealousy, and disrespect, all the things that we have in common today. The first reason why I like this story is because it displays disrespect. It displays disrespect because when the young boy comes to his father and demands that he gives him this enormous amount of money the kid(referencing to today) goes to Vegas and blows it all on women and gambling. It shows love because even after the stupid kid just went and blew ten million dollars, his father still is happy because he is home. He is not mad about the money at all. He is just glad that his son has returned home alive. This shows that love can go beyond money and that money doesn’t always buy love. From the story, The Parable of the Prodigal Son, line twenty, “And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.” No money was worth the death of his son. And this father would have lost any amount of money just to have had his son return home. I like this because sometimes today many take money for granted but it’s about who is there when the money is
