The sixth commandment of the Bible states that “thou shalt not kill.” : Certainly, this makes capital punishment wrong. Capital punishment was not made to promote killing but it stands as a god-ordained action for human government. According to the author of The Biblical Truth about America's Death Penalty, Dale Recinella, everyone is deserving of death. The criminal laws that were given to man by God were made to work with a community for both victims and offenders, leading us to ask if certain crimes are worthy of death.…

Another reason capital punishment should stay is it keeps the crime down. When a person commits a crime, they are put in prison. But let's say he gets out of prison, he may do that crime again. If we execute that person they can't ever commit that crime again. Whenever there is an execution, crime might just go down a little bit.…

The Death Penalty is wrong because it causes moral, and constitutional and irreversible mistakes in society. The Death Penalty goes against the eighth amendment of the Constitution. The Constitution states,” Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted. ”…

Capital punishment also known as the death penalty, in the simplest terms, is the act of executing a person for crimes that they have committed. As far back as we can go humans have killed each other. We have systematically killed each other for centuries, whether is it was genocide or execution; humans have ended life at the discretion of their peers. One might ask why we still hold these terrifying traditions to this day. The death penalty is unjust because it is a horrendous thing to do to a human, it is more expensive then imprisoning them and it does not always bring satisfaction or relief to family members of the victim.…

A study of Los Angeles County trials has shown that the average trial in which prosecutors demand the death penalty costs $1,898,323, while a murder trial where the death penalty is not sought comes in at $627,322. Death penalty is the most expensive because the constitution requires a long and complex judicial process for any capital cases. The process is required to make sure that innocent men and women are not executed for crimes they did not commit, and also to protect the innocent person from getting executed. According to George Sjostrom, “The cost of the death penalty is too high, both in dollars and in emotional pain,” (192). If we replace the death penalty with a sentence of life without the possibility of parole, it will cost millions less and also ensures that the public is safe and protected and we will also eliminate the risk of…
