In addition, it is also the book most quoted in the New Testament.1 Jewish tradition lists Isaiah among the “Latter Prophets,” while Christian tradition lists it among the “Prophets.” Along with Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Daniel, Isaiah is one of the Major Prophets in our modern Bibles because of its (large) size.2 The other (smaller) prophetic books are listed under the Minor Prophets, which the Jewish canon calls the “Twelve.”3 …show more content…

I will further discuss how it’s the last book before four hundred years of silence and how no prophetic word was spoken to the prophets again until John the Baptist. I will further discuss how the prophets before him looked forward to God’s emergence. I will elaborate on how the transitional nature of Malachi makes the book interesting to any individual concerned with the relationship between Judaism and Christianity as well as with the general history of redemption and revelation. Both prophets lived during a tumultuous transitionary period of Judah’s history during which Babylon began a systematic deportation and exile of Judah’s citizens. Where the prophets differ, however, is in their message to the elite of Judah in its waning days and their eventual exile. One main point of difference between the prophets was their interpretation of reasoning for the fall of Judah.…
