Why The Bible Is True?

“All scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17, is what I have grown up believing about the Bible. I grew up going to church every Sunday and also going to a Christian day camp every summer for six years. The Sunday school teachers at church and counselors at the camp I attended always after each Bible story I heard would say “this story is true because it comes from the Bible, which was inspired by God”. I worked at a camp called COCUSA this summer, and the theme verse for camp was 2 Timothy 3:16-17. At that camp, …show more content…
I most certainly do believe that the Bible is true. I have no doubt about the Bible not being true. I believe that God created this earth and everything in it. Look around at the sky, the grass, trees, birds, etc. How could any of this be here if it were not for someone who created it? Everything has a creator. Also, I believe that the Bible is true because the prophecies that were fulfilled. The Old Testament is full of prophecies that were supposed to happen. There are different books that claim to be prophetic, for instance, the Book of Mormon and the Koran. Those are just claims, not the truth. The Bible is the only book that precisely, with much detail, that foretells events way before they even happen. For example, a major prophecy to happen was Jesus being sent by God, to earth, to live a life like you and me, except for one thing, he was perfect. Another reason why I believe that the Bible is true is because of the historical and archeological evidence and accurateness. The Bible is the most authentic book of all, if we are looking for accuracy with the history of it. The discovery of archeological evidence from the Bible confirms it to be true. The archeology was a reason to help me believe, because I am a person who likes to confirm things by putting two and two together. When I read that the Bible says something and then read about something in history that lines up with the Bible, it helps me to verify that the Bible is …show more content…
I think that some parts of the Bible are more believably literal and others more believably symbolic. A symbol I think of all the time is the rainbow that God sent as a covenant that he would not flood the whole earth again. The Bible is also an allegory. An allegory is a story or poem that can be revealed to have a hidden meaning, typically a moral or political one. When I read the Bible, I have to look deeper to understand and to find the meaning of the scripture that I read. Allegories that I think of all the time are the parables that Jesus tells. The parables have symbolic meanings to them. I get confused sometimes when I read parables. Even the disciples were confused at times. For example, I was confused when I first read the parable of Salt and Light. But, then I realized that I had to look deeper for the meaning. When I was looking deeper into it, I realized that it represents us being blessed by God and being called to be a member of the Kingdom of God. The parable is about us shining our light and living for

In many of Paul's letters, Paul talks about that we are justified by grace through faith. In James' letter, he says faith without works is dead. At a glance, it looks like James is contradicting Paul, but further in and both are going to each other. The Word is inspired by God and is beneficial to us for teaching, correction, reproofing, and for training us in righteousness.…

Symbolism and allusion are in every story from “Cinderella” to “The Shining”. Symbolism is when you take a color or an object and make it known for something else. An example of symbolism is the color black, in most stories the color black means something evil or bad or the color white as life and perfect. Also the allusion is where you make a reference to another story, movie, and even religion. Authors of “Harrison Bergeron”,”The Lottery”, and “2BRO2B” use these things in their stories without you even realizing it.…

Well, I’m here to answer that question. From someone who was taught the Bible and raised in a church, I would like to examine the flaws in the book and explain my belief of why the Bible is no more than a fictitious book compiled of old folklore and blurred stories. As Dr. Bill Warren once stated, “Any faith ought to be an examined faith.” (WARREN 1) One of the most obvious, yet ignored controversies of the Bible is the blatant similarities between the stories…

Now more than ever, the world is more closely connected through the nearly-instantaneous exchange of ideas and information. This exchange of ideas means that collaboration for the advancement of knowledge on a particular subject is possible and facilitates advancements in that field. On the other hand, having access to the abundance of contrasting ideas also means that people have more to think about and more they can argue about. One of said arguments is whether the Bible is really trustworthy. There are too many different beliefs about the Bible to list them all, but some of the main ones are that the Bible is the word of God and true and trustworthy, the Bible is just a book written by man and, therefore, vulnerable to the weaknesses of any human-written work and fallible, or that the Bible is mostly true but has some inaccuracies, thus casting doubt as to whether it is inspired by God.…

    Bible Truth

For Christians, the Bible is the ultimate standard by which truth, worldview, right, and wrong are determined. The idea that biblical truth can be communicated, and for some, better understood in a work of fiction may seems ludicrous, but even the Bible recognizes this as a fact. Throughout the God’s Word parables and other stories are used to convict people and communicate principles. By having a different perspective, often achieve through a story, it can become easier to determine right from wrong. In this way a story can be used to help people recognize wrong that they are trying to hide, justify, or ignore.…

The Bible is considered to be the book of the Church and it is to be the true word of God. The Bible was written by the hands of Men through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,” (2 Timothy 3:16, NIV) There are those that believe the stories from the Bible are mere fairy tales that one shouldn’t put hope in. Instead the Bible should be interpreted as an expression of the ideas that God wanted to be portrayed, sometimes in non-factual ways. Living in our modern day society we need to understand that these thoughts were better displayed through stories than they would have been through factual reports. Winter also says that some parts of the more profound parts of the Bible would lose their power if they were based upon observable facts, such as the story of creation. (29-37) Believing in the supernatural helps us to cope with our everyday lives. By doing so it makes it so that we can focus our concerns on other questions that we can derive scientific answers from.…
