High School Sports Should high schools be all about education, and grades? I couldn’t see myself getting up in the morning excited to learn trigonometry. Let alone be happy in a place like my school. My point would be that I only come to school because I find motivation in the sports that this school has to offer. I tell myself I have to turn my homework in, or I need to read this page, and study so I can pass my test to play Friday night.…

I now do not have a problem speaking in front of people or leading a team to achieve a goal. It allowed me to be bold in myself and know that anything is possible if I set my mind to it. Along with that, it gave me self-appreciation; I am proud of my accomplishment, but I am also proud that my hard work paid off with a state championship. Sports allow you to be able to look back to the past and see that your hard work did not go to waste. Children need that more than ever because growing up with the technology we have now, many of them sit at home all day on their mobile or tablet device instead of getting out and working hard.…
