Why Students are not seeing the dangers lurking when it comes to sickness. Diseases and bacteria are everywhere that can be the difference between life or death. But, what if I was to tell you that if you get were vaccinated this chance would be less likely to occur? I stand that it is important for students to be vaccinated because when they get sick, their peers around them are at risk! Being vaccinated is important to your overall health such as, diet and exercise. What students who are not vaccinated don’t realize is that vaccine-preventable diseases haven’t gone away.

The viruses and bacteria that cause illness and death still exist and can be passed on to those who are not protected by vaccines. Chickenpox is an example that is easily spread by sneezing and coughing. According to the Department of Health Information, " A vaccine to protect children against chickenpox was first licensed in 1995. Children who have never had chickenpox should routinely be administered two doses of varicella vaccine with the first dose at 12 to 15 months and the second dose at four to six years of age. Persons 13 years of age and older who have never had chickenpox or have not received the varicella vaccine should get two doses of the varicella vaccine at least 28 days apart." This is just one of many reasons why getting vaccinated can help prevent illness to you and those around you! Our bodies may get used to the outside world, students do not realize these viruses are in the air.…
