In fact, the definition of grit is to have the audacity to keep going and to have indomitable spirit. That being said, grittier students work harder than average students because they are willing to keep going even when quitting is the easier route. On the contrary, students who lack a gritty character will be less likely to succeed in college because they are less ambitious and not as self-disciplined. Therefore, how can one be more successful than someone who has worked for everything they have had. In effect, gritty students will be more successful in college than students who are not as dedicated because they work harder than average students, are more persistent and determined to succeed, and know that stamina, not IQ, are the tools it takes to reach success.
