Why Students Have Changed Over Time

Decent Essays
Our school has a lot of rules and policies but if i had the choice to change just one of them it would have to either be longer time for intermission or a longer lunch. The reasons i would change these rules is because students have such long classes that they may feel overwhelmed or stressed out from all the work they have I believe if they had a 10 min intermission they aren't feeling rushed to get to class and they have time to catch up and think of other things maybe run and get a snack or drink or even use the restroom without being in a hurry to class. The reasons for a longer lunch period is the students won't feel rushed to go to Hamilton and get something they like to eat and they have more time to socialize with their friends. They would have more time to relieve the stress of all this class work that they're doing. If the students were given a longer lunch it would give them time to too homework or missing school assignments and they would be able to talk to other teachers about grade enhancements. …show more content…
In Conclusion students should be able to have longer intermission breaks or a longer lunch to catch up on missing assignments or catch up with friends without feeling

Many students in Diamond Bar during lunch have to meet with teachers, do homework, go to club meetings, and socialize with friends they couldn't talk to all day. But due to the short periods of lunch the students feel rushed and stress out more, not having a sense of being on a break but having a sense of constantly working with no rests. According to a study done by Grace Chen, when lunch period are extended to about an hour or more the quality of the food gets better and the students eat healthier, due to the mass amount of time the lunch makers heave to make lunch. Longer breaks also allows the time for students to not be rushed in all the school activities they are in involved in and allows the students to get more accomplished in that extended period of…

This essay will describe how Sarah Wu’s book, Fed up with Lunch, discusses the horrendous problem outcomes found inside of a lunch system in a large Elementary School in Chicago that may include the true time that is given to eat the lunch, the unexpected nutrition found inside of every dish given, as well as the truth of keeping all the nutritional facts away from the public. Looking at the statuses of each school around the nation, it can clearly be stated that each school is different, however looking towards the fact that some schools lie on the same district, county, or even city can state the point that those schools have a significantly common method of running their institutions, and this one school could be the most significantly different…

I think longer lunches would cause the learning environment to be quieter. Kids would get to enjoy their food more. Students won’t be as hungry. Even though they still might in class, it would give students more time to talk, so they don’t talk as much in the classroom. There would be less kids getting in trouble for talking.…

Indepence from Early School Starts Times Due to the course of human events, like being forced to get out of bed outrageously early, thus having trouble focusing in class due to the extreme fatigue it has caused me, I declare my separation from the school’s early morning schedule. We stand together, defending the right to sleep in, with time to prepare for the day ahead. Actions must be taken, such as being provided with more time in the morning before school. Us, hard working students, deserve to be pleasant and well-rested; don’t you remember sleeping in and being elated?…

School should not have electives that waste time but a short day with only having core clasess in the day. Their should be a very little break over the summer with short clasess everyday with only the core clasess. This would improve students learning because they won't have distractions like electives to make them not consentrate on the teacher when they are teaching. The weekends would stay the same because the students still need a few days in between weeks to rest and get ready for the next week. The clasess would only be thirty minutes becuase clasess now are too long and overwhelms students when given difficult and challenging it is hard to take in all of the information of a fifty minute class.…

The only more stressful time than a five test Friday is finals week. During finals week, students spend several hours studying many different subjects. After all that hard work all they get is a short four day weekend to recover from four days of challenging exams. It would be much more beneficial for students to have a long break after the exams to allow students recover. Teachers would also be given more time to grade these exams and other projects the students completed.…

Schools should set short breaks everyday to allow the students to recharge, explore, and because brain breaks are scientifically proven to be beneficial. Short breaks during the day allow the students to restart their brain. In class, students simply sit in chairs all day, which causes the students to get bored and unfocused. Consequently, the students learn nothing during class and defeat the purpose of going to school. With short fitness students would be able to move around, and release adrenaline and endorphins.…

Life can be a hassle in moments when least expected, lives can make 360 degree turns in a matter of time, and the pursuit of happiness grows with time. Imagine waking up at four in the morning feeling drowsy from yet another sleepless night just to get ready, sometimes grabbing the first thing you see to eat or perhaps nothing at all, then rushing off to catch the bus in the cold, unprepared for the random weather change, or in a rush trying to beat the traffic so you don’t get counted tardy. In today’s society, this is the typical morning of the average high school student. They spend countless hours of their days to find a balance in their lives worrying about deadlines and getting to class on time. The given time gap should be used wisely to be able to catch the next class on time. It is a student's responsibility to manage his time carefully. The students do not take that long in eating their lunches so there is no reason for them to not be able to come to the next class in time. However, most of the students are not in favor of these reasons. They are simply inconvenient and unfair in the students' parts.…

Finding new ways to persuade students to be present to class is vital for the administration. Eliminating one day per week could be enough to motivate the students to attend class more frequently. As a consequence to this solution, the attendance policy would be more strict, fewer days would be allowed to miss, and classes would be longer. Every class Monday-Thursday would be an hour and thirty minutes long, instead of having fifty minute classes on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and an hour and a half classes on Tuesday and Thursday. Nevertheless, with a four-day school week, students would be able to fit more activities in on their three day break for friends and family, relaxation, and job responsibilities.…

There is one question that I have had from day one that I have not been able to answer and I have not found another teacher who can answer this question. My question is, “How does a teacher get everything done that is required of him/her?” At the beginning of the year as Mrs. Scruggs was completing her classroom schedule, she informed me that you had to have an hour of uninterrupted math instruction, an hour and a half or reading, writing, language, and independent reading, and thirty minutes of science/social studies. Plus, the schedule includes lunch, recess, bathroom breaks, and on most days two forty-minute time slots for activity. As the year has progressed and we have attended countless meetings, it seems that more and more things are required but nothing is taken away.…
