Why Students Fail To Complete College

There could be many reasons why students fail to complete college. Some examples of this trend could be financially lacking the funds for college, work, and motivation. Studies show financial burden is the number one reason students are dropping out of college. Students are paying more than ever for college. In the past parents were paying a larger portion of their kids tuition, but as tuition costs are on the rise parents aren’t willing or able to brunt the rising cost of tuition these days. College Board reports tuition has risen almost a thousand dollars over the past decade. Even with the benefits from a college degree being so great, the rising cost of college is leaving a larger number of people unable to attain a degree. Whether it’s a four year school or even just a two year degree, lack of motivation can make it difficult to complete college. Who can really blame them, after thirteen years of school or maybe more for some students, asking a kid straight out of high school to go to school for another two to four years can be tough for some. In my opinion unless a person has the funds or strong parents pushing their kid through college you should wait a few years before going back to school. Most kids straight out of high school do not understand the benefits of a college degree, and until they are in the work force and see what it takes to get a high paying job or even climb the latter at most companies they may never understand the benefits of college. So in most cases it isn’t a bad idea to take a couple of years off from school to understand how the world works and to maybe get a better understanding of what they really want to do with the rest of their
