Emerson said in one of his essay: “College should literally change your life. It should shape your values and your ambitions, as well as provide you with analytical skill sets you will need to achieve and sustain those ambition (20).” Even now as a college student I believe a college degree will not only shape your life but expand it. By giving you a better understanding of yourself, and the abilities and skills you possess in the world around. Which can open many door of opportunities to you; that people without a college degree could never open; possible for the lack of skill, connection, or recognition of not having a further education than just high school.

Its impacts are far more reaching across a society that can be benefiting but is suffering from it lack of completion it can only be reflected in our schools, in our science, in our government and in our culture. Everyone loses on this and therefore everyone is vested in making the changes. How we can get students more ready to transition from high school classrooms to the college classrooms, what life experience classes are need to help college student adjust to their independence on being on their own and managing time for themselves or a family or even a job. Would it be advantages to make college more affordable so the stigma of cost is not the deterrent for students? However, with even all the personal issues, social barriers, lack of preparation, and financial problems that most college students go through. I believe success will come to those who persevered or eventually adapt to make it through the tough that is known as college. Which will lead most individual toward a career or life that is worth having a college degree? Which will also lead them to reach back into their families and help other siblings to pursue higher education so they can have a chance of a successful life
