Why Stewardship Is Important Today

Stewardship has value and significance to the present day. For many of the following reasons, this essay will address examples and evidence of the major importance of stewardship. Being stewards of creation is the role that God gave us to take responsibility and care for his creation and as well cultivate and appreciate our resources that we were given. The reasons that will be discussed in this paper will include examples of how we, in our everyday lives, can show stewardship and will acknowledge really how relevant and important this God-given role is. We were given all resources to use and to preserve which, as stewards, we should protect. “Safeguard creation, because if we destroy creation, creation will destroy us.” This quote was made by Pope Francis in front of an audience about stewardship. The message behind this speech is that we must take care of our resources otherwise our well being is put at risk as a result of abuse and overuse of resources and God’s world will turn in on us with pollution, very limited resources and only small amounts of human life.
