Why Start School Later?

How could a parent not know who could take care of their child or how could a school take down or stop a way to save money. Pediatricians and Doctors are trying to make school later for high school student to help sleep deprived student, they say making school later will help improve academic performance to. School should not start later for high school students because after school activities will be affected, and it saves schools a lot of money from transportation even though starting school late gives student more time to sleep.

If we start school later students get more sleep, according to the text, “School days beginning after 8 a.m. have many benefits for students especially those in middle and high school, according to Psychology Today. These benefits include better academic performance, fewer absences and even improved health”(Anderson 1). However this claim is invalid because, according to the text,” Montgomery County Public schools in Maryland has 30 high schools and the three ranked highest by U.S. News and World Report for college readiness and algebra and english proficiency all begin classes at 7:25 a.m.”(Anderson 1). Schools that begin early still are top ranked schools which means starting school later really doesn't matter. Some people may think that starting schools later helps improve academic performance, however schools that start early are still top ranked schools.

In conclusion, school should not start late for high school students, because after school activities get affected and because it saves school money from transportation. Even though some people may think that starting school later helps improve academic performance. But they're wrong because how could after school there's no one to care for their sibling, How could we continue to lose money if we can save money, so this is why school should not start late for high school
