A College Education

A college education is very important in today’s economy and society. For some, it is nearly impossible to be successful in life without a college degree. This is the view of people in many different countries. Gary Burtless says that “The economic reward [for] attending and completing college has probably never been higher.”(qtd Dews,F) To catch up to those countries that are superior to us in technology and economy, America has to change. One of the best things that you can do to find out if a college is right for you is to physically go to the campus of the college for a tour or just a visit. This way you can get a feel for the campus and what the school and people are like. If you can, get some friends and family involved with the visiting of the college, you never know what knowledge they can input into your decision. If you 're researching different colleges like I am, make sure that you 're getting your information from reliable sources. Some websites and even some books are biased to or against certain colleges. There are many editions where they cover almost every college you could think of. In each section, they cover a different region of the US, and in each subsection, they cover most of the colleges in the region. On each college, there is vital statistics, like total enrollment and most popular major, as well as student and academic life. Sources like this one are great for helping you get more information about colleges in the US in a fast, factual way. I am very serious about finding the right college for me so I spend hours sifting through giant books like this one, however researching different colleges is very important.
