to have breast enlargements is not right because they are still a child. No one at a young age should ever have to have work done to themselves to make them feel pretty. In 2013 a 6.1% of high school students admit to taking steroid pills or shots without a doctor 's prescription at least once during their lifetime so that they could excel in pageants (ProQuest Staff, Body Image Timeline). December 1st of 2010 there was a study that preschool girls have been confessed that being thinner is better (ProQuest Staff, Body Image Timeline). At such a young age no kid should be worried about their weight and look they should just be living a fun childhood with no worries. In march of 2012 the National Eating Disorder Association reported that 50% of 8-10 year old girls are saying that they are unhappy with their own body image (ProQuest Staff, Body Image Timeline). On top of kids wanting to be skinnier they wanted to have the perfect body look so they decided to take steroids. Taking steroids is never good to the body unless it is for a medical reason and a doctor prescribes it. On top of having to look a certain way contestants decide that to make themselves look and feel beautiful enough to win a pageant that they must go in to starving their bodies. The time that it takes to get everything ready is such a waste. The chances of winning is very slim. The cost that it takes to make a contestant look beautiful is exaggerating. In the end scholarships are not nearly as much as they are suppose to be. Also the publicity that goes along with having a beauty pageant is overwhelming. There is many other ways to feel and look beautiful. Beauty pageants are not it. Do not promote pageants, it is a waste of time, a waste of money, a waste of emotions, a waste of scholarships, and a waste of
