I was an at risk youth at one point in my life. Therefore, I have taken longer than many to find success in my educational goals. Ethnic studies is important to me personally, because after taking one class, I found the support and motivation to continue with a higher education. I want to grow as a person, by being an exemplar member of my community. I want to be a leader. There are many students who want the same as I do. I am asking you to allow us the opportunity to be better people. To teach our children to be better people. As soon as we lose Ethic Studies we will begin to lose our progress as a society. We will begin to lose the history that has brought us this far. Once it is lost future generations will be back at square one. We have
