Why Should The Titanic Be Brought Up

Decent Essays
Some people may think the Titanic should be brought up to the surface. I believe the Titanic shouldn't be brought up. It's already falling apart, if we tried to bring it up it would most likely get destroyed in the process. It's basically a gravesite for over 1,000 people, so moving it would be like digging up a grave. Plus, it would cost thousands, perhaps millions to bring it up.

I don't believe it should be brought up, because it will most likely break in the process. If it starts rising, the Titanic will most likely start breaking into pieces as a result of the change in pressure. If it does break as it rises the rubble might catch some wildlife or researchers underneath. Once it does break, it'll be the millions of dollars down

Many others believed that over time the ship would deteriorate even faster that it would on its own. Researchers believe they only have just about fifty years left, before the ship is non-existent. Ballard explains, “We went back in 2004 and did it all over again, and we can show you exactly where the submarines had landed, where they had crushed the deck, where they had knocked off the crow’s nest, where they pulled fixtures off the ship, and where they tried to break off the telemotor, all the debris, all the garbage that they left behind” (Carter). Today it has been one hundred and four years since the ship that served the richest of the rich and the poorest of the poor set sail. The ship is slowly falling apart and will soon never be…

The ship's crew and line need to be held responsible because of how poorly they handled the situation they had at hand. Ignoring six ice warnings is irresponsible and inappropriate for a prestigious ship like the Titanic. If the crew sailed without enough lifeboats for all the passengers to fit nand didn’t wait until the lifeboats they had were filled, they should be viewed as accountable for the Titanic tragedy. Many lives were lost on the Titanic and the ship needs to be held liable for their failure to save the lives of everyone on…

One of the negative aspects for Titanic is the safety. Only 40-65 passengers can get in one of the 20 lifeboats onboard. That means only 1 200 to 1 300 people, far from the 2 228 who were on board in 1912. The safety of the passengers and crew members should be the number one priority for the owner of the ship!…

It took nearly three hours to sink the Titanic. As the bow sank, the stern rose from the water while the steel frame began to rattle eventually cracking the middle of the ship knocking out the electric lights remaining on the Titanic.
