A lot of times parents have to be paying for a uniform because of this low-class families struggle with the price of uniforms. According to the article, “Arguments Against School Uniforms”, “Lower-to-middle-class income earners often argue against the costs of uniforms if families are responsible for covering them. If schools share in or take on the costs, taxpayer dollars typically support uniforms.” This quote shows that not all people can afford the uniforms, and students have to have multiple pairs of the same uniform which makes it harder for parents to afford these for their child. According to the article, “Should Students Have to Wear School Uniforms”, “Parents already pay taxes, and they still need to buy regular clothes for their children to wear when they're out of school and for dress-down days. The parent of a third grader told Education World: "My son's an unusual size, so it's hard to find him clothes anyway. Limiting what I buy to certain colors makes shopping for him...more expensive.” This quote shows that uniforms limit the range of which for parents have to buy their clothes, making school shopping take more time and make it more expensive for parents.
