Sports have become key social institutions chained to family, education, and economy. By surveying a large population of student athletes the argument against why student athletes should not be paid may become weaker as recurring stories are told within the life of each student athlete.
Variables
Student athlete, gender, socioeconomic status, and unique talent are considered the independent variables. Dependent variables include mode of entry into type athlete (full tuition, partial scholarship, walk on, transfer), number of involvement in more than one collegiate sport, the success of the sports team throughout the season (how well their season goes reflects on how much more revenue will be generated), and attitudes towards being a student athlete (is there balance? Amount time consumption? Etc)
