I believe that I should be awarded this Scholarship because I am a dedicated, hard-working student. I was inducted into National Honor Society because I met and exceeded the standards necessary to be accepted. I wish to further my education after high school and get a degree to aide in my future career. This scholarship will provide assistance in the financial burden of my education.…
Abbott and Fenner Scholarship Essay Growing up, my heart and my mind almost never agreed. I constantly define myself as indecisive, especially when deciding what career path I wanted to pursue. At the beginning of my freshman year I had picked a single class that I wanted to take more than anything, but I had to wait until junior year. The class was AP Psychology.…
I believe that I deserve to receive the Doris J. Dressler Scholarship for this upcoming academic school year. Knowing that I have not always been the smartest person when it comes to academics, but I always have tried to give my best in my classes. I know that I need to work hard in my classes especially now that as I enter my last academic school year. This scholarship will take off the burden during my last year of studies of having to pay for either text books for my classes, gas money to make it to campus, or even covers majority of the cost for one class. The less I worry about my financial needs the better I can focus on in my classes and raising my grade point average.…
I would like to receive the W.W. Mebane scholarship because I need help in paying my college tuition. I live with my mother who is a self-employed single parent. My mother runs a very small cleaning business which barely provides for me and herself. My Expected Family Contribution (EFC) on my FAFSA is 000000. Despite growing up with little money I have strived for success and to further myself so I can aid in supporting my family.…
I think I deserve this scholarship, because I could be a positive role model for others that have had a similar discouraging…
Achieving the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Scholarship would benefit my family tremendously since I am planning to go to the University of St. Thomas in Houston which is a private 4-year university meaning it will costly compare to public postsecondary institutions. Additionally, the scholarship provides a 5,000 dollar four-year renewable scholarship and it will be a great financial assistance towards my tuition to strive for Bachelor’s degree. I need this scholarship to help me fund for my attendance to college. Due to my parent’s income, I will not receive a substantial amount of financial aid because their income range is not considered to be financially need based which many scholarships look for. Therefore, while searching for scholarships, when I see a scholarship requirement…
Surely plenty of other students might have much better reason as to why they deserve to be awarded this scholarship. Either being in many sports, taking many honors or AP classes or just being a phenomenal student overall. I didn't do any of those things, I never played a sport or took very challenging classes. I never believed I could pass an honors or AP class and I was always to afraid to take the risk.…
I think I should be awarded this scholarship because I am top of my class, and I contributed my time and skills to MSJ often. The only thing holding me back from going to MSJ is the money prospect, and this scholarship can help with that. I worked hard for what I have achieved at MSJ, and would love to continue working at it.…
I believe that I deserve the “Courage to Grow” Scholarship, because I’m very determined and take my education seriously. Both during college and high school I faced a series of obstacles such as living at a women’s shelter at the age of sixteen, the death of my grandmother and cousin my freshman and sophomore year of college, and attending counseling for emotional abuse and a risk for developing an eating disorder. I overcame each obstacle despite the mental stress. There were rough patches with my grades at the beginning of college, but I worked hard each semester to raise my GPA, and make honor roll. I’m a fist generation college student, and earned my associates in arts from Longview Community College, and will attend the University of…
One reason this scholarship award is important to my family and I is because of the price. To some people $1,500 may not seem like that much money, but I look at it is $1,500 less that I will have to pay. I am a triplet, which means that all three of us will be going to college next fall. Although my parents do not seem too concerned about the upcoming price tag of college, I know that I want to do as much as possible to lower the price. Whether it is working or filling out scholarships, I want to earn as much as I can now instead of procrastinating.…
The impact of this scholarship on my education would not only be seen but would literally be felt throughout my entire family. Being a 47-year-old male, who is the sole provider in his home, working one full-time job and one more than a part-time job to keep his family afloat. I worked on the streets, in Emergency Medical Services from 1989 to 2013 when I moved into the classroom full-time. I teach Public Safety courses to all high school students and the EMT course for high school juniors and seniors. Come into the public-school system as a lateral entry teacher I had to go school to get courses in education to keep teaching.…
About 40% of kids in the United States play football at the ages of 13-17. I'm pretty sure every kid has had a dream of doing something really great one day whether it is playing a sport, making millions of dollars, or doing something that will help/ make the world a better place. Now that I’m in eighth grade i now notice all those things are longshots but no one said we couldn't try anyways. Playing football for a Division One school is what I hope to accomplish most in my life because I will be the first one in my family to do this, I can earn a scholarship that will pay for my education, and will lead me to a professional career. After all, If I achieve my goal of playing football for a Division One team, I will be the first one in my family to do this.…
I want this scholarship, because I know that any amount of money I may receive would bring me that much closer to paying for all of my college education. I would love to be able to finish my four year degree with little to no debt, especially since I will be attending medical school after I obtain my bachelor's degree. I know I am the best candidate for this scholarship, because I have always been and will continue to be a very hard worker. I always strive for perfection in all that I do, and I have never been one to give up, even when things get difficult.…
There are multiple reasons why I'm applying for this scholarship. The main reason being I want to keep college debt to a minimum or non-existent if possible. Another big reason being my family and I are not financially stable. This year has probably been one of the worst years we’ve ever had financially. My dad lost his business left a crater in our bank account and on top of that my father was later taken to court for some money.…
I am currently a sophomore majoring in linguistics with a minor in elementary education at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Although I am an in state student, the tuition is a burden and I didn't qualify for any need-based aid so I am dependent on outside scholarships to help me in funding my education. I feel that I deserve this scholarship because although it might sound cliché, I worked hard to get into a top high school which prepared me to get into a well-known university. I took honors and AP classes all throughout high school because I wanted to challenge myself and I am currently doing so at my university by maintaining above a 3.0 GPA. I don't want finances to be the reason I can't continue my education, and I am determined…
