I believe that I should be awarded this scholarship because I have come from a family who has never really been financially stable. From the time I really could remember, my brother and I have never really been able to have a worry-free life. As I got older I started to realize some of the toxic tendencies my mother and step-father had. Our parents would shout at me and my brother over little things and threaten to beat us if we did not abide by their so-called rules. At the age of 15, I decided that I could not survive in such a toxic environment. Two days before my 16th birthday I moved out of my mothers home and moved in with my best friend. My grades improved tremendously and I was able to get a job; Since then I have never been unemployed.
