What are your three (3) most important reasons for wanting to be a teacher?
Being a teacher is the without doubt the hardest work I have ever done, but no other type of job has ever given me as much satisfaction. Helping my students to comprehend the science behind this world we live in and watching their critical thinking skills grow warms my heart. I think teachers play a critical role in society in these rapidly changings times, a basic comprehension of scientific method is crucial to the development of an informed citizenry. Finally, I enjoy being around young people and watching them develop and grow.

How much do you want to know about your students in order to be helpful to them?
It’s very important to know about my students learning difficulties, sensory impairment, socioeconomic status, difficulties in the home and school lives, and past academic performance. I believe the biggest hurdle to connecting with secondary level students is getting them interested in the lesson’s learning objectives, to do this I want to know as much as possible about them in order to attempt to relate their lives to the subject matter.
