Millions of people each day decide to intake over thousands of chemicals into their lungs every day. Most people don’t even realize what they are doing to their body until it really starts to get put into effect. Cigarettes are the leading cause of cancer in the United States of America. But on another note thousands of people don’t even smoke cigarettes. They are all about another substance called cannabis which is also referred to as marijuana. Now cannabis is legal in 23 states but still a sin to many off people in the United States (Noonan Web). Cannabis is a plant that allows a person to feel different in all different ways. Now they don’t just let you get high all the time and use it for recreational purposes. This cannabis is called medical marijuana and it is for people that have problems. Medical marijuana is supposed to help your body heal for whatever the purpose may be whether it is physical or emotional. Some states do allow you to use marijuana for recreational use but not in all areas. What does marijuana do to you and why do people smoke it? Marijuana like I stated above is a type of plant. It is however an herb that does grow from the ground or fertilizers. There is a chemical added to cannabis that gives your body that high that makes you feel different. The chemical is called Tetrahydrocannabinol which is better recognized as THC. THC is the heart of the plant. It is the reason and purpose that makes your body feel the way it does. It puts you in a different state of mind which is the high of the plant. THC does have plenty of side effects depending on how your body reacts to it. Your body can feel all types a way from smoking marijuana. The side effects from the THC can be drowsiness, laziness, increase of appetite, and even hallucination. Patients that use cannabis are usually in some kind of pain or different state of mind. Medical marijuana does and is proven to help pain whatever the case may be. As you know cigarettes do a lot more harm and is proven to do way more harm than marijuana. Cigarettes have over 7,000 toxic chemicals in every single one. The chemicals cause problems to your body like black lungs, loss of brain cells, cancer, chronic bronchitis, and other very dangerous sicknesses. There is bias on one or the other but facts that show which one is the worst. Cigarettes happen to be way worse to smoke than marijuana. Marijuana can be used in different ways. It can be used for recreational use and medical use. Millions of people use marijuana as a type of recreational use which is okay but there are still going to be problems with that. Marijuana basically can lead to laziness. Laziness is not good because it can put your mind into a different state of being. Smoking marijuana can still kill brain cells. How do you think you get the high? It goes straight to the brain. Marijuana is proven to help in many ways as a medical use. Cancer patients use it to get rid of most of the pain they are going through. Like stated above marijuana does release most inflammation in the immune system. THC levels are what people should be aware of. Lower the amount of THC levels and it may just help the killing of brain cells. Smoking is not good for the body or head in general.
