Why Do Animals Kept In Zoos

All of us grow up with fond memories of visiting the zoo with our family, friends, or a field trip in school. In zoos we can see a lot of animals. There are these amazing large elephants, those cute monkeys climbing or playing and many others. The zoo is the only place where you can see these amazing wild life creatures up close. Many zoos all over the world are professing their undying concern for animals. Some are accurately claiming that their zoos are “collections” of interesting animals that serve as an actual replica of their natural habitats. If I’ll put you in the shoe of animal living zoos, can you imagine spending your entire life in a small space that isn’t big enough to do anything you enjoy doing, like playing with friends, exploring, or traveling? Let me tell you at least three reasons why. First, is that, animals in captivity live shorter and sad lives. Life in zoo is so difficult for animals because they hardly have any privacy and lack metal stimulation and physical exercise. Those animals really don’t get used to a life in captivity. Zoos are the unnatural environment for these wildlife animals and these can cause the animals to be sad and can drive them crazy which can even lead to death. Animals in captivity are imprisoned in small enclosure and cages at zoos and they don’t get to do the things that they naturally do in the wild and also, important to them. Instead, these animals in zoos are kept in cramped space with no privacy at all and have very few opportunities to exercise to keep their body and minds active. Living without these essential in their life can often cause “zoochosis”, a condition in which animals act strangely and even hurt themselves out of sadness, boredom, and even
