(nytimes.com) These statistics show that if abortions became illegal, there would be a countless amount of women who receive a “D.I.Y.” abortion. These type of abortions could be more dangerous for both the mother and her unborn child. Therefore, abortion should remain legal for all women because abortion is an option in the case that the mother is incapable of providing for the child, the pregnancy was a result of rape, and the mother or child’s life could be harmed or threatened by the pregnancy.
