"I essentially am not in madness,But mad in craft." (III. iv. 187-8.) Hamlet is supposed to be pretending to be insane, but is his insanity really an act? In some instances of this play Hamlet does convince many that he is really insane. In some instances his actions are to great, to bizarre to be an act. After seeing a play acted out of Hamlet, I came to the conclusion, Hamlet is not in fact mad he is human. Some reasons I think hamlet is not insane are, he shows compassion towards many people. The turmoil he has suffered would make anyone behave abnormally,and he works through his emotions just like any other human being would do. To start with, Hamlet is not really insane.
