Why Seniors Should Not Be Allowed In High School

Graduation is the day seniors take the last step of high school, but the first step into the real world. The last chance for the seniors to do whatever. So why can the seniors not decorate their hats? Apparently, there is a “rule” saying that seniors cannot. Talking to Mrs. Hays, she said, “ No decorating the hats.” Not once did she pull out a piece of paper saying anything about it. In other words, this may not be a rule just made up because the school board does not want the seniors to decorate their hats. All through school, the teachers would say, “ Be yourself. After all, the seniors earned that right too. Why is this a rule now? For instance, Chico High School in California allows their seniors to decorate their hats. The way they were able to do that was complain every year until it was allowed. With that statement in order for the 2017 seniors to get to decorate their hats, a group of people are going to have to complain until they are allowed. That would be more annoying than just accepting the fact that decorating the hats is not a big deal at all. The only circumstance is that it is not offending to anybody or the school. By decorating their hats it shows the crowd who they are as a person and to celebrate. In The Sexism of School Dress Codes, Li Zhou organizes her article by informing the audience about the negative effects school dress codes may have in females, transgenders, and nonconforming students. Li Zhou strongly believes school 's dress code policies need to be updated since the policies that currently exist are bias and enforced in a way that humiliates the student. The current policies create an expectation that women are responsible for unwanted things that occur to them, when it may not be their fault. Dress codes should also be updated because they current ones, don 't take into consideration students who may be for the LGBT community or students who may simply not want to conform to the norm. Maggie Sunseri of Versailles, Kentucky was simply a middle school student when she first realized, her school 's dress code was bias towards females.…

But one of the greatest honors of my life was helping the two valedictorians—Thomas and Prince—write their graduation speeches. Never have there been so few dry eyes in an auditorium as there were for those first surviving seniors. I found myself challenged as a teacher, during this time, in ways that stretched me beyond what I thought I knew about teaching or about teenagers.…

One reason I think that their should not be longer school years is to have children do things outside of school. Also the shorter the school year will be the more they have to learn and study. Therefore, I believe that the more time kids spend in school the less time they'll have outside of school.…

I know in my first year of running in high school, it was hard to feel welcome in a sport when everyone was literally running away from you. Luckily, I grew faster and made many amazing friends, but I believe everyone should be included in the team dynamic, even if they are not a top runner or an extrovert. New people on their first day are usually timid and wide-eyed. I have found that it only takes asking their name and saying something somewhat funny for people to loosen up.…
