Why School Should Start Later

If school should start and end later affects people all over the United States on a daily basis. There is always a competition between parents and state about whether or not school should start and end later Truthfully, school starting and ending later could help with student concentration, help them follow their correct sleeping patterns, and keep them from having health problems. If schools were to start later it is factual that it will produce good benefits for the students and teachers. It’s a known fact by many different researchers that kids who get the sleep they tend to be able to concentrate more and therefore earn better grades. When they concentrate on their school work, instead of being really tired, they are more likely to score higher on state tests and that …show more content…
Scientists are constantly searching for the reasons as to why teens need a lot of rest, and so they have come to many conclusions about this. They have found out through studies that the teens, without the proper amount of sleep, can not think clearly. Therefore, judging how their brain is supposed to be working(Should schools start later in the day,article 2). People who research this stuff also believe that teen has a certain sleep schedule that they have to follow for their not to be problems with brain functionality. Another thing scientists have figured out through their research is that teens need a minimum of 9.25 hours of sleep for health risks not to occur(Bianchi 2). Some people think that since they have the free time and have nothing to do, they can rest and kind of catch up on the sleep they have missed out on, but truthfully that doesn’t help at all. It causes that person to feel a lot better, but it also makes them have late reaction times to things that may be happening to them at the moment(Should schools start later?
