Why School Should Be Longer

Isn’t lunch the highlight of everybody’s school day? We all know that school can be stressful and tiring, all that knowledge being hammered into your brain along with homework, classwork, and other activities during school such as clubs. As a result of students working hard all day long, they should have a longer time to relax, to get rid of unnecessary stress. This time would ideally be during lunch.
I know, for one, that school adds a lot anxiety to my everyday schedule and having a longer time during school to let that anxiety out is, in my opinion, essential to success as a student. If you are worried all day long about your busy schedule after school and having no time for homework, lunch can be a good time to just take a nice deep breath and try to manage your time and get things done. With lunch being, on average, 35 minutes, it is hard let out unnecessary anxiety because the next moment you have to go back to class.

I also know that after sufficient time to relax and eat my lunch, I am more ready to learn because I have gotten the amount of time necessary for me to compose myself and get ready to head back into the classroom.
My last and final reason for why lunch should be longer is because a huge flaw in the way we educate our youth of this generation is that some really just don’t care to learn and decide to chat and be distracted the whole time. According to http://thesailorslog.com, “Students who have less than 30 minutes to actually eat their food eat less and end up hungry and distracted later in the day.” If students get a longer time to eat their lunch, some might not feel the need to chat and be distracted if they already had ample time to do

Let's take a quick trip around the world and see what lunch is like different countries. In France, students have a 2 hour lunch break where they are free to eat whatever they please and have enough time to take a nap as well. Moving on to Spain and other spanish speaking countries, students go home and eat lunch with their families, who also come home for lunch, and they both rest before heading back to school and work. Now back to the USA, students eat predictable, unidentifiable(Oxford Comma), and not so nutritious foods for about 30 minutes without even leaving school.
