Savages do not establish laws. Savages do as they please even if it does not abide by the law. Savages do not care about any consequences. Savages feel as if laws are meant to be broken. Another reason savages break laws is because of entitlement. Entitled people feel that laws do not apply to them. One type of savage in today’s society is a criminal. Many people believe that criminals only break laws because of mental illnesses and this is not the case. Criminals break laws because they want to. Criminals get a rush of excitement after breaking laws (Pratt). In Lord of the Flies one group is comprised of savages. The leader of this group is Jack. Jack’s group regards rules as a waste of time. Jack’s group functions without laws but in an unorganized fashion. Jack acts like he finds satisfaction in having no laws because it is thrilling.
